God's Glory Band
"Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him;
and he shall bring it to pass.”
Psalms 37:5
Faith is a wonderful thing. Not only can it move mountains, it can touch the minds and hearts and souls of people worlds apart. So it was with the formation of God’s Glory Band. In a remote community tucked far away in the bush country of Jamaica, where the people, culture and music are vastly different from the United States, faith was the thread that wove God’s Glory Band into existence.
On a mission trip with Mission Builders for Christ in February 2003, Sean Wallace, a young Jamaican trying to build a gospel band with the youth of his community, told one of the mission workers that he was so filled with Christ that all he could think of was singing for the Lord and winning souls for Christ. He didn’t want to be famous or rich, just able to glorify the Lord through the music of his band. It was a defining moment. How could one not be dedicated to helping a young person so committed to Christ and to spreading the gospel?
So it was in the beginning – a passion that inspired many people to help and that would eventually fuel a fire of faith that led to the formation of an international outreach program that is touching thousands of lives. God’s Glory Band is still growing and needs your help. Your monetary donation or gift of instruments can help build their dream of glorifying God. The band’s trust and perseverance and faith has indeed been a shining ray of inspiration that deserves to be passed along. And as you become a part of joining two worlds through God’s glory and His music, may God richly bless you and yours! |
