God's Glory Band
In The Beginning
“I will sing of the Lord’s great love forever; with my
mouth I will make your faithfulness known
through all generations”
Psalms 89:1
God’s Glory Band is being formed by Sean Wallace, in Silent Hill, Jamaica. A band to sing praise to God and spread the gospel has been Sean’s lifelong dream. He has gathered together a group of several young people who have been practicing for several years. However, until this year, instruments for the band have largely been only a dream. They have prayed continually for God to provide instruments for the band.
In February 2003, the band’s plight was discovered and the band’s prayers began to be answered. Through a collective effort, instruments began to be donated by people far and wide. In May 2003, 2 big boxes of instruments were shipped to Jamaica and for the first time, the group was able to really practice. “God’s Glory Band” was formed.
God’s Glory Band is now a work in progress. The instruments donated so far are a wonderful beginning. To complete the band, the boys need amplifiers, various percussion instruments, and a professional keyboard. They would also be grateful for any type of new or used instruments such as a banjo, violin, acoustic bass guitar, woodwind instruments or brass.
God’s Glory Band is also in need of a place big enough to practice. It is one of the goals of Glory Outreach to be able to build a building that will allow them to practice and develop into a true gospel band.
Sean and the boys in the band continue to pray that God will provide for them as He has so graciously done so far. If you want to be a part of an answer to their prayers, you may donate instruments, equipment, or contribute financially to the band. Any money received will go toward buying necessary instruments and equipment or the construction of a building in which to practice.
We look forward to watching the progress of God’s Glory Band as they continue their mission to glorify the Lord through music and song!
